Melissa has over 22 years experience as a Registered Nurse with extensive clinical experience in adult and paediatric nursing.

She has gained her professional experience working in various roles at Sydney Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney.

Melissa has held senior roles in the areas of emergency nursing, intensive care nursing and the long-term Management of children with chronic illness who have both physical and intellectual disabilities. Melissa specialises in the care of children and young adults and has a particular interest and talent for working with this age group.

She has also co-ordinated the complex care needed for young people with profound physical disabilities living in the community including those who are permanently ventilator-dependent.

Melissa is the ‘Lead Consultant’ for our ventilator-dependent clients.

Melissa is an experienced educator/conference presenter and is highly skilled in the preparation of complex educational sessions and supporting materials for both nursing professionals and client audiences. She has excellent communication skills and is experienced in the management of conflict resolution. Melissa holds a dual role with the Lighthouse Health Group, providing case management support services and preparing and presenting educational sessions to some of the leading nursing home care agencies in Sydney.

Melissa is also an accredited ENPC instructor.
